The Rising Sun Experience chose their name as a homage to Jimi Hendrix for his major music influence in funk and rock music. While the roots of this Portuguese collective go back to 2006, their music is not just a revival of their main influences, such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Can, Stockhausen, Miles Davis´ electronic phase, Led Zeppelin or the earlier mentioned Hendrix. The Rising Sun Experience is more about pushing the psychedelic progressive heavy rock culture a step further into the new millennium!
"Beyond The Oblivious Abyss" is the second album of the Lisbon based band and was recorded with special attention to the sound quality and mic techniques. It was mixed solely with analog delays and effects, tape echoes and spring reverbs. With true love for music they created a deep cosmic musical journey with plenty of unforeseen moments and sounds. They´re groovy, mean and highly atmospheric! Longest tune on "Beyond The Oblivious Abyss" is a 15 minute suite of five parts. Open minded music freaks will surely appreciate this spectacular piece of conclusive free-flow music!
